Whenever I get past the busy/lazy/overwhelmedness situation, I'll be on it like gangbusters but until then here's a list of beer events in Tacoma and surrounding areas. I'll update this post as I get new info so check back if you are so inclined.
February 2012
Monday 13th - Tap Night Tacoma (Tacoma, 6p) Citywide selection of fresh cask ales pouring on the 2nd Monday of every month. Come out and support this sweet Tacoma event! More info on participating bars can be found on their Facebook page.

Wednesday 15th - Avery IPA 2 Ways (& more) @ The Red Hot (Tacoma, 6p) A few taps will be dedicated to Avery Brewing Co beers, a fine maker of the lovely India Pale Ale. Info on what beers be a pouring can be found here.
Thursday 16th - Don't be Effing Dumb @ Parkway Tavern (Tacoma, 7p) by not cancelling all previously laid out plans to make it to the Parkway before 7p. They won't say why, but if you take a moment to think about what highly limited beer made in Santa Rosa is currently being tapped at locations all over the place, you'll know why you should come. Early. (BTW, I make absolutely no claim as the correctness of that vague reference indicating what this event is about, it's merely a guess.)
Wednesday 22nd - American Brewing Company Scotch Ale Release @ Parkway (Tacoma, 6-9p) Come meet two of the great people behind American Brewing Company, Neil Fallon and Skip Madsen, while trying some of their tasty beers as well.
Wed. February 22nd through Wed. February 29th -It's that freaking time again!!! TACOMA DRINKS WASHINGTON BEER @ The Parkway Tavern and The Red Hot. No details yet other than the dates and pic of the growler you can win for completing the mission (should you choose to accept it) but this is how it worked last year... Pick up a bingo card style sheet at either the Parkway or Red Hot. It had about 25 squares on it featuring a different brewery in each square. Go to the bars, drink a pint of one of the listed breweries and get a stamp. If you fill out the entire sheet during the week long event you will have won yourself a special made growler (pictured below), oodles of fame and a well used liver. AMAZEBALLS, I loved this last year. I'm a sucker for themes and anything involving reward based drinking. MGD and I finished 2 sheets and this was also during Tacoma Craft Beer Fest weekend. If there was any way to top that, we will. Hop on the Tacoma Drinks Washington Beer train and you can be as happy of a winner as I was last year. Scroll to the bottom of this post to see my happy win face. :)
Thursday 23rd - Hilliard's Beer Release @ Red Hot (Tacoma, 6p) First ever keg of Hilliard's Beer in Tacoma will be tapped (E.xtra S.pecial B.elgian, it's a bitter made with Saison yeast) as well as their Saison in 16oz cans. Show up, drink, try to win a cool hat made of Hilliard Beer cans.
Saturday 25th
- Hops and Props @ The Museum of Flight (Seattle, 7-10p, $60-100 Sold Out!) As you can see on the site, this event sells out fast. This will be my first year attending and I'm super stoked. You may want to check out some of the info on the event and other write ups on it then mark it on your calendar for next year and buy tickets early!
- Washington Beer Open House @ Breweries throughout Washington (12p-5p... I know, right?!) 2nd go for this event, last year was a smash hit. Every Brewery may do something a bit different but it can include things like barrel tasting, food-beer pairings, seasonal releases, and whatever else. Hit up the official event info page on the Washington Beer Commission website.
Wednesday 29th - Fish Brewing Night @ Parkway Tavern (Tacoma, 6p) The wrap up event night for Tacoma Drinks Washington Beer, you can drink like a fish, if need be, to finish out that punch card! They'll be offering beers from both their Organic and Reel Ales line.
